Making the most out of a class.

What is the point of taking a class if you are not going to make the most out of it? College is too expensive these days to waste your time and money. Me, myself, would not want to sit through a class or engage in an online class for a whole semester to only find out at the end that I failed because I did not give it my all.
One of the ways I make sure that I am fully focused is to not have my phone by me, the television on, and I let my family know that I am doing homework so that they will not bother me. Distractions can really interfere with your grade. Some people can study and do homework with a television or radio on, not me! Another distraction that I have is my dog. It never fails once I start doing homework here he comes. I have learned to just ignore him otherwise I would never get anything done.
Attending class or regularly checking the website for an online class is very important to succeed in school. How are you suppose to learn if you are not going to take the time to look at the material? I look on the website everyday because I am so afraid that I am going to miss something. I have also printed out the syllabus and schedule of assignments and even wrote everything in my planner.
Another way to engage in an online class is to take notes about any of the videos we have to watch or any of the readings. Note taking is a priority in classes because you can not remember everything and this will be a visual of what you have discussed for that day. You will always have these notes to look back at that may help you for other assignments also.
Participation is a key to succeeding also. I know a few classes that I have taken in the past, we have been graded on how much we participated in the class. If no one ever participated then it would just be the instructor giving out information all the time and other students may bring up something that  no one else would have ever thought of. Asking questions goes along with participation. This is a must. All throughout high school I was too shy to ask any questions, now being in college I do not have a choice, unless I want to take the chance of getting a bad grade.
